Our story.
Rebecca Edelman is the founder of Caper. Following her 20+ year tenure on Wall Street as a C-Suite Executive in Financial Services, Edelman reunited with her former professor, Dr. Bill Coplin of Syracuse University to build Caper. Coplin is an award-winning educator, whose pioneering “Skills Win” program is based on a 45+ year research and development study, started in upstate New York. Edelman has adapted Coplin’s life’s work by carving out essential skills designed for students and young adults to Do Well and Do Good. Career success and civic engagement are the cornerstones for both Rebecca and Caper. Thus far, the program has been adopted by the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, Public Service Leadership Academy at Fowler High School and the New York Junior Tennis & Learning nonprofit in Manhattan.
Meet Coplin.
Bill Coplin is the founder and professor of the highly successful undergraduate Policy Studies Major at Syracuse University. Its purpose is to provide an undergraduate professional program while maintaining the integrity of a degree in the liberal arts. Author of 110 books and articles, many of which are in education, he has taught and advised tens of thousands of undergraduates over his 50+ years of teaching.
Coplin’s mission is to equip all students with the practical skills needed for career success while leaving society better than they found it. The Skills Win Program seeks to improve education throughout the United States. Coplin’s mantra adopted by Caper is: To Do Well and Do Good.
