A simple idea.
A bigger opportunity.
Our story.
Caper grew from a simple idea: young people need more opportunities to practice the skills that school, work, and life require, not simply hear about them. That idea was shaped by founder Rebecca Edelman’s experience across media, public policy, financial services, teaching, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship. Across very different environments, one lesson kept repeating: many of the capabilities that matter most are developed through experience.
Caper’s roots also include the work of Dr. William “Bill” Coplin, whose Skills Win framework and experiential exercises focused on helping students build practical skills through action. Rebecca licensed those exercises and used them as a foundation for Caper’s early curriculum. From there, Caper evolved into a broader experiential learning platform organized around Do You, Do Well, and Do Good. Learners take action, reflect on what happened, and use those insights to guide what comes next.
Today, Caper helps learners build communication, judgment, initiative, accountability, problem-solving, collaboration, and follow-through through real-world experience and reflection.
